Inflation in Emerging Countries (Monthly Report)

28 February 2017 - The inflation rate has further fallen in January in India, possibly due to an economic slowdown triggered by the demonetization process. In other apparel exporting countries like Turkey or even Vietnam, consumer prices have more sharply increased in the last months, meaning that labor costs could be raised. Our monthly report offers a comparison of inflation rates in low-cost countries, with historical data available back to June 2007. Impact of currency changes vs the US dollar, the euro and the Sterling is also calculated to assess real terms of trade for exporters.
