Inflation in Emerging Countries (Monthly Report)

22 March 2018 - The majority of emerging countries experienced stable inflation rates during February, whereas China’s CPI almost doubled, coming close to target. Considering exchange rate movements, emerging countries’ exports to the Eurozone and the UK are likely to increase, while terms of trade for exporters to the US deteriorate. Our monthly report offers a comparison of inflation rates in low-cost countries, with historical data available back to June 2007. Impact of currency changes vs the US dollar, the euro and the Sterling is also calculated to assess real terms of trade for exporters.
